    Late 90's 270 Sundancer Thread

This is an old post but when my outdrive got destroyed I replaced it with a 2.2:1 unit. Mph at same rpms was slightly down but not bad. I sold the boat but was going to up prop pitch some and it should have been fine. So don't hesitate to get a different ratio if that's what you can get a deal on.

I used an Achilles LSI 260 which is 8'8" and has the air floor. I would bring it when needed and just sit it on the back seat then throw it off the back and blow it up hanging off the back. I had a 4hp motor I would stick under the back seat until time to deploy.

    Bravo 3 props for sale, 20p, 22p, 28p

I sold my 270DA and have these extra props. New boat doesn't have an outdrive so I have no use for them. All are in good usable condition. Asking $250 for each set.

Well guys, we sold the 270 to move into something bigger. I loved the 5 years I had with the boat and learned a lot in the process. We don't want to trailer anymore so it seemed silly to keep a tow truck and trailer around just for a boat we have no intention of trailering. I could have sold the...

With my 2.0:1 drive I would be going about 27mph. Now with my 2.2:1 I am doing 24, I need to prop up to get me back where I need to be.

Are you sure your 17.5GPH isn't at cruise? I have a mechanical fuel flow meter and it shows 15.5GPH on my 454 at 3500rpm. Which is similar enough to this https://www.boat-fuel-economy.com/mercury-mercruiser-3.0-181-fuel-consumption-us-gallons to where I think it's accurate. I see up over 25GPH...

Yeah I used to cruise at 27ish mph with the 22p props. I think I saw 36mph WOT once. This is on GPS, my dream-o-meter gauge has never worked. I have gone WOT maybe twice in 5 years lol. I have a fuel flow meter and seeing your fuel burn at that speed keeps you in line. I hit something and...

Ah ok, I never knew that piece existed. I'm not sure I'd have a use for it. Like I said once it's summer I use the 2nd bimini top in back for added shade. I don't really ever use the camper top (the curtains) I just use the 2 biminis hooked together. I'm in Louisiana so rarely do I boat where I...

what do you mean by aft bimini curtain? Do you mean the back piece for the camper canvas? Or something else? I bought my boat used and it came with the full camper canvas. We use the front bimini in the spring then both biminis once summer hits to provide more shade..

I 100% agree with Henry Boyd, looks like that's a T for a flush but its still going to the original B3 water pickup tube. We have to assume that smaller hose goes to a thru hull above waterline? That way you can put a hose in there and wash the engine out. I'd love to have the thru-hull like...

    Replace exterior rusted manifolds?

I don't have any logs from when they were last changed. I've had this boat 4 years and about 300 hours. I guess from the recommendations here most people are saying go ahead and do it, which is what I was leaning towards. It's mostly on the port side bolts and I think it's from drive fluid...

    Replace exterior rusted manifolds?

Sorry, didn't grab pics when I was there today. I'm pulling the motor to have the coupler changed. Thought it's a good time to do manifolds if need be. I've known the bolts are rusted badly for a while. No issues with exhaust otherwise. The shop can do it while the engine is out but I'm...

    Replace exterior rusted manifolds?

First I have a full closed cooling system. This is a 7.4l mpi with 740 hours on it. I yanked my risers and they are not terroble themselves but going to replace them. Now my manifolds have surface rust pretty decent. In fact the screws into the block are rusted and will need to be cut off and...

The dimensions are 18.5"W x 20.75"H x variable depth (16" bottom, 21" slightly higher sloping to 26") The tricky part is the bottom, its shallow but then quickly spaces out as the hull slopes upward. So a fridge with 18" depth will fit as long as the max depth occurs higher up. That's basically...

My fridge is dead so I pulled it out and had to measure all that as well. Pretty tough to find a reasonably priced replacement. The direct replacement Norcold models are $1000! That's steep for my 20 year old boat.
