I appreciate all the feed back but unfortunately we’ve checked off all those boxes. We swapped ever cooling part between the two motors down to the long block. This is a brand new short block and it doesn’t like antifreeze in the summer and we love in the NE, he runs it on water with no issues...
We’ve tried every variation of mixture as well as different brands and pre mixes. As soon as the weather warms up the antifreeze fails however straight water works♂️ In September he will fill it with antifreeze again and it will be fine until next June then the cycle begins again.
All of the above has been inspected and checked. Like I said if we drain all the antifreeze out of the block and fill it with just water it runs normal. When we introduce antifreeze back into the block it over heats. We have tried different ratios with no luck. For whatever reason antifreeze...
Have a friend w a brand new 6.3 merc and starting in June she overheats w antifreeze in the block. Run it w 100% water and she runs about 6deg hotter than the SB motor. He has replaced everything from hoses to sensors and all pumps with new and over from other motor and still with antifreeze it...
Recently removed my gas generator, electrical side is in perfect working order short block needs a complete rebuild. $1k takes the whole thing. From what I can gather electrical side alone runs over $1k to buy by itself.
looking for a part number for the damper/drive plates for a 5.7 Merc MPIs w/ Hurth v drives. Called 3 different shops and got three different style plates. I took the peep hole cover off and I have the star style and they keep giving me round style numbers. Has Mer changes the OE part???
has anyone had an issue with a clacking noise happing right as the motor fires up. i replaced the starter on my SB motor and though i had broken teeth on the flywheel, after inspection definitely no broken teeth. Sounds like arching so maybe a bad coil pack? any thoughts before I start throwing...

the wire actually goes to the rear fuse panel in the engine bay. Aft Acc is what you want to tie into wire #526-14 red/violet. confirm the numbers with your year but your looking for a 6 inch unterminated piece of wire coming out of the harness.
