Update:
Today I switched breakers with one in the panel that I know is good and it still tripped. Took a look at the charger (Promariner Protech 4) and it was quite hot and the 2 little fans were not working. Soon after that the breaker tripped again. Looks like I need a new charger.

I wiggled the pulleys but did not pull the belt so I'm not sure I got an accurate assessment. Visual inspection while the generator was running was unremarkable. Can any Mercury dealer help me? Could not really tell where the noise was coming from but it sounded like the aft end of the unit...
On my 1991 Sundancer 350 there is a switch/breaker on the main panel marked AC Converter. My understanding is that this converts AC into DC to keep the batteries charged. Correct?

1. Should I turn this switch on only when connected to shore power?

The horns on my 350 Sundancer stopped working. I got new ones and they don't work either. I checked the voltage at the wires for the horns and I get 12 volts when the switch is depressed. I took the new horns home and hooked them up to a 12 volt power supply and they work fine. What's going...

First post. Have a new to me 1991 Sundancer 350. Had it out this weekend and the generator started making noise after running for about an hour - sounds like maybe a pulley bearing. Shut it down, checked all fluids - all good. Started-up again very easily, but still making noise...
