I noticed my garboard drain cover was a little loose when I installed the plug. So I decided to reseal it. I removed the screws and garboard drain cover and a little bit of water drained out of the bilge. I think some of the water got in the bottom screw hole and used a heat gun to dry it out...
It's a 1997 Chap. Located about a 5 hour drive from where I live, so I can't easily go back and test it for moisture and tap test. Anyhoo, I decided to pass on it. Didn't think it's worth the risk when it has an apparent issue that could turn out to be a big problem. It's probably a water leak...
Thanks for your responses. Unfortunately, I sold my Sea Ray and this is a Chaparral I'm looking at. So you are correct, it's not a Sea Ray:( The glass guy said the cracks were most likely caused from remaining in the water for prolonged periods. I'm not exactly sure why/ how that would cause the...

I'm in the process of looking at a late 90s Sundancer 240 and was wondering how are you determining the value of your boat? Is nada.com accurate? I noticed the full bridge enclosure on a 1997 240 adds about $1700 to the value. Seems kinda high to me. Or on boats this old the blue book isn’t...

I have a sundancer that is leaking water under the step to the cabin (see attached pic). The water is coming in from the engine compartment thru a small hole/ crack in the floor. I sealed the hole so it doesn't leak anymore. Does anyone know if there is an area under the floor that is not...
