I don’t have the macerator, just two vacuum pumps. Been looking at how the system works and starting to wonder if it’s the vacuum switch not the motor. Maybe it’s sticking and not making contact when the vacuum drops. I will jump the switch that will tell me for sure.

Something is off. On my 98 400 DA, you push the preheat and release, wait for the light to stop flashing then attempt to start. Mine sat all winter and started with about 5 seconds of cranking this spring. Before I swapped the controller, my procedure was similar to yours, very hard to start...
This could be the Genset IV controller. Mine wasn't activating the lift pump and glow plugs. Replacements are NLA from Sea Ray, but I bought one here. Almost impossible to find.

Thanks so much everyone, I didn't realize that fuel line was just a return. Nervous about opening things up with the mechanical injection. I will remove it and the oil sensor and then it should be easy peasy. I have the backing plates coming in and I will replace both and new o rings.
