depending on where yours bent I did the same but on my pole it spit and there was a copper piece on the inside so i just drilled out the rivets and went to home depot and got a new piece of copper for the inside and bent back the chrome piece put the new piece inside and new rivets,worked fine
go for the 185 you will be happy. I have a 06 185 with the 3.0 and it's just fine and is great on gas,it's no speed demon but great for tubing and sking.

If it's your first boat look at some used ones....right now people are selling cheap...you might find a deal...I have a 2006 185 sport with the 3.0 and it's great on gas....but wish I had some more speed..
your boat should have the oil drain tube that comes thru the drain plug....take your drain plug off and if there is a chain or cable hooked to it pull it out and a tube should come out with a brass fitting....
thanks for the input......with 140 hours on it it could be time for the impellar and a stat.....think i better get a shop manual or should the impellar be a dealer install job??
