As Lazy Daze mentioned above, snow on the deck is extremely slick! Moving around up there is not a good thing and when the snow load shifts and the boat rocks, you'd better be hanging on! I agree with those above and know what winters are like in Bayview and Spokane. I would also take some...
Our hot tub in a locked gazebo. We use it about 5 nights a week depending on our physical workload for the day. We have a Clearwater spa and have had it for about 10 years. We've replaced the cover and that's it so far. My wife loves it because it reduces chiro visits and helps reduce aches...
Does the noise happen when you turn the wheel, when you go in and out of gear, accelerating or once at speed and cruising? What series of events or conditions make it happen?
Fixed! Apparently Mercruiser combined both parts into one. Once I removed the old single seal, the one piece water pump base fit. I'll be ready for next season now.
I am replacing the water pump base and seal for an Alpha 1, Gen 1 and the bases are different and won't fit on my lower unit. They are higher and have an O-ring. Mine doesn't have an O-ring and is much lower in profile. Local dealers scratch their head as does Sea-Way Marine in Seattle.
it...
I used to carry a spare water pump so if the onboard died, I could drop the new pump right in. It died and I did! I had used it for transferring water but haven't needed it. It served as a backup and transfer pump. Worked quite well and is continuing as the primary pump now that it's...
Still bummed my shift cable died the night before! We were so looking to having the other side of that dock!! I could have helped with the log that blew in too! Glad the FS Guys had their boat and could tow it to a better location! Great pics, great trip and two years from now, we'll do it...
I have to replace the lower seal on the water pump housing, so it's coming off anyway. Two hours isn't that bad. But singlehandedly, it might take a lot longer. It will be indoors and 70 degrees instead of outside in the high 90's or low 100's. That makes is a lot easier! Thanks for the...
The socket was a whopping $11.00 and I'll use it twice this season alone. Down the road, 10 to 12 years from now, I'll use it when I redo the lower shift cables again! The starboard was done in 2007 or 2008. It's time to do both now anyway since I have no idea when the port was replaced. I...
I did see the new assembly, but my switch works REALLY well. LOL!! The cable is shot since you can't pull it into or out of forward or reverse with the cable in your hand while standing in the bilge and somebody is spinning the prop. It's been 17 years since I replaced this one. Seems like...
Nevermind!!! Lower shift cable is totally shot. It worked last week and gave up the ghost over t
And the switch from the roller type to the plunger type! Oy!!
I do have some good size washers, but bigger is always better. That's a great idea! I just worry that I'm crushing something that shouldn't be crushed!!
