1980s 34 foot Sea Ray Sedan Bridge

Does anyone out there know anything about the 34 foot Sea Ray Sedan bridge produced during the early 1980s or so? For example, original cruising speed with two engines, structural integrety compared to today's Sea Rays, good traits, bad traits, etc.? Thanks for your help. :smt038

    How was your Fourth?

Sorry, all. We had a great time watching the fireworks in DC. Rented a great slip. Had great company. Over all, just a great, great great time. :smt038

Do I need to use spring lines?

How can it hurt to use it/them? And, it is one less thing to worry about.

    How important is a genset?

Just on the generator question: While there might be some outside factors such as a seller being willing to install a generator or an arrangment where the seller and I would split the cost of installing one, I would not look at a boat that did not have the appropriate sized generator. In...

    Docking advice

Relax, guy. There ain't no dumb questions where boating is concerned, especially docking. These are the only things I am sure of: 1.

    Looking for advice

Never seen a turnkey boat. Never seen an easy boat deal. Never seen a boat that you had to be careful about evaluating before the purchase.

    slip width to boat beam

We have maybe 6" or 8" on each side to work with, about a fender width. The fairways are also tight. One of the keys is to line it up right and focus on where you want to go, not on the boats next to you. If you can dock at our place, you can dock anywhere.

New to Sea Ray Issue with beeping

From your description and if I understand what you are saying correctly, the exact same thing happened to us on our 280. Two beeps every 60-90 seconds or so. For a couple of days, the techs connected any gauge they could think of to the engine. Nothing. The boat ran fine during testing but...

    Official 280 Sundancer Thread

If I am incorrect I am sure someone will tell me: I think it is a mistake not to tie the anchor line off on the cleat. We take some pretty good tugs owing to the wind and wakes of other boats. I would prefer the force stop at the cleat and not at the winch.

    What should I cary onboard?

You only need two things: WD40 if it doesn't move and should. Duct tape if it does move and shouldn't.

    Official 280 Sundancer Thread

I have retrieved the anchor by hand when the winch went down. Crazy about having to do it again, I am not. Using the winch makes things so much easier. The winch we had came with the boat. I have no idea how much it costs to install one.

    Proper Fender Placement

A cleat is our first choice. However, tides, the particular dock, etc. may not make this practical. We may have to hang a fender from the the rail or anything else that seems reasonable. I would like to use fender boards but I cannot figure out where to store a 6 foot long piece of wood on a...
