Sea Ray told me they used UV Protected Sikaflex SIKA 521 when they built the 480DBs. I've also heard that some people have used Dowsil 795.

I recently replace one of my pumps with a Shurflo Aqua King II model 4159-153-E75 with a flow rate of 5 gpm at 55 psi. My other pump is the older Shurflo 3901-0216 which is 3 gpm at 55 psi. That's plenty of pressure and flow for us even with two showers running at the same time.

I can't think of any common issues off hand that you'd be able to find short of a full inspection. Sea Ray did not bed the engine room air intakes on some of the 2001s correctly. That allowed water to seep into the hull core under the intakes on some boats. That's one item for your surveyor...

QUOTE="boaterholic, post: 1421857, member: 59133"]Good day all, I'm trying to narrow down boat search models to upsize from my 420DB when it sells. On the Sea Ray's the models of interest are the 480DB and 560DB. Few questions on the 480 if you can help me out on please, and looking at the 2001...

You could try snaking the drain from the sump box up to the drain.

Hi Russ, did you replace your shower drain fitting? I need to replace the one in my port head now. Where did you get the part? Marine Max says Sea Ray no longer carries it and Flounder Pounder doesn't have it.

A while back, the door switch/lock mechanism on my washer/dryer failed in the door locked position, preventing me from opening the door. This is apparently a common problem with Splendide washers. I could not find a replacement online. I read a recommendation to simply unbolt the mechanism from...

There are underwater lights that attach to the trim tabs to avoid transom penetrations. There is a small hole near the shore power cap above the water line that drains the transom locker. The wiring could run through that to connect to power. The question now becomes where is the best...

Has anyone added underwater lights without drilling underwater transom penetrations? If so, how did you do it? Thanks!
