We are considering purchasing a 10 year old 340 DA and have narrowed the search down to two possible boats. One has twin 496 Mercruisers on twin Bravo III drives with a bow thruster...the other being the same power through V-Drives. the boat will be kept on a lift behind a home in Punta Gorda...

Jitts, If your pivot bolts are not corroded it will go fairly well. Just take your time and use your head and you'll get through it.

OK...engine is out, gimbal assembly with new exhaust and shift bellows as well as new gimbal bearing is installed.We ran the engine on the floor while it was out, changed the plugs, oil, filter, power steering hoses, rebuilt the Q-jet and set the timing. the engine is going back in tomorrow...
