The big old 80's 340 owners thread

Hello, I hope everyone's Season is off to a good start. I have a plumbing parts question on my 1989 340 Sundancer. I have a 90 deg elbow and a Tee that need to be replaced in my potable water system. It looks like the original parts were made by BrassCraft. The tubing OD is 5/8". I don't see...

The Big Old 80's 340 Owners Thread

Hello fellow 340 owners! I own a 1989 340 DA and I have a quick question. I recently purchased new dash panels from FP Marine and before I install them I would like to restore or refinish the surrounding dash area. My question is - Is the dark green factory finish on the dash, Gel-Coat or...

Monty, thanks for the additional info. Removing that exhaust pipe does make a big difference. You say you are installing Mercruiser stainless manifolds and risers? I’ve never heard of them, please share that info when you have a minute. -Steve

Monty, Thanks for your suggestion. I have been thinking about changing out manifolds and risers, so maybe I'll combine the jobs. I would like to upgrade the seals to dripless, but it could get expensive real quick if both shafts need to be replaced. Something to think about though. Thanks! Steve

Hello my fellow 340 Owners. Has any replaced the Norcold (nevercold) refrigerator? If so, what brand / model did you buy? How did it fit? Also, has anyone attempted to add to or repack their prop shaft stuffing boxes on the DA? Looks near impossible to me unless you have 6' long arms. Has...

Shawn, Thanks for your suggestions and help. Your fridge upgrade is a good idea, but I think I will stick with the built in dual voltage type. As I said to Mike in the previous post, I'll try the tach cleaning idea this weekend. I hope it works! I spoke to a SeaRay mechanic recently, and...

Mike, Thanks for the information. I'll be sure to post my refrigerator choice when I make it. At the moment, I'm leaning towards a model from Virtrifrigo. This line of equipment has good reviews and a friend of mine chose them when he replaced his fridge on his '96 330 DA. I will try out the...

The big old 80's 340 owners thread

Greetings to my fellow big old 80's 340 owners. I've been the proud owner of a 1989 340 Sundancer since 2012. I've been updating the boat a little each year, such as a camper canvas and new cockpit upholstery. I have a couple updates that I would like to do this season and I thought my fellow...

Sundancer boot stripe..... anyone removed it permanently?

The previous owner of our 89 340 Sundancer had removed all the stripes. It looked very plain and boring. My wife and I have since reinstalled the boot stripes and are in the process of putting all other stripes back on.

    What a Great Wife!

Have I got a great wife or what! I got a 48' Sundancer to go along with my 1989 340 Sundancer for Father's Day. A man can never have too many boats!

    Hello From Newark, DE!

Hello, We named the boat Almost There! I agree with you that you are in a great location to go north or south. We considered slipping the boat at Mears Marina at Kent Narrows just for that purpose, but due to my work schedule it would be hard to get to the boat during he week. We get down your...

    Hello From Newark, DE!

Hello Everyone! I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself and say hello. My wife and I purchased a 1989 340 Sundancer last May and really enjoyed our first Summer cruising the upper Chesapeake. We spent the previous 17 seasons on our Cruiser's Inc Holiday 25, but we had just out grown it...
