    2000 380 DA couch

Chris, the jack screw(s) that run the couch are probably rusted. oil them and try again after the oil soaks a bit. There is an access panel on the front of the couch. You can turn the screw with a set of vice grips...carefully to get it started.

I recently had the pleasure of removing my door during the refrigerator replacement. I would, at first, attempt to avoid it by vacuuming the tracks and swabbing them out with Q-tips. Don

GFI for outlet on 2005 420

There is usually one on each side of the boat. Look in the head, under the mirror, or wherever there is a horizontal surface that the plug is facing down. It's made that way to keep moisture out. On the other side of the boat, it is probably in a cabinet, perhaps over the sofa, depending on...

Not Getting Max RPM at WOT on 7.4Lt 380 Horizon MPI

I would check spark plugs first. I have different engines, but lack of RPM is the first thing I see about every 3 years. Changing plugs fixes it. Good luck. Don

    Removing old tv from boat

I did this and installed a 20" with a DVD player. I haven't used the DVD yet, and wish I had gone with a 24". Don

The start up procedure on these from a room temperature setting is to set it to max cool for 8 hours. Just as a last resort, I would shut it off, and let the temp go to room temp. Then set it to max for 8 hours to see if it can cool both sections. Then lower the setting to about 45. Let us...

    Removing old tv from boat

Be gentle prying up the trim piece. Sometimes the push-in fasteners (Christmas trees) break off, as they get brittle with age. Don

That's also where the trigger switches are for actuating the A/C units. The cushions are easy to remove. Loosen the screws, and lift up. Don

    Real candles on Boat

On my boat, that is an absolute no. Don't even go there.

Cabin lights are DC, and yes, the solenoids have to be tuned on. If you are using your boat, even seldom, there is no need to turn them off. The cabin refrigerator is AC/DC. It runs on AC when connected to either the dock or the generator, but if not, it runs on DC. If you are tuning off the...

Typically, this is due to corrosion on the switch contacts. If the boat hasn't been started in a while, it gets worse. So, the quick fix is to jiggle the switch back and forth to clean the contacts, but long term, you can remove the panel and spray contact cleaner on the underside of the...

OK, so back to the Fridge replacement.....it's not an easy job, but doable. I didn't take pictures because I didn't want to remember it. Aside from the typical remove and replace verbiage, there are some absolutes to this job. (1) Plan on removing the sliding cabin door; both pieces. To do...

    Changing duckbill valves question

Agreed on the "change all", but in addition, when you buy these, buy an extra set to keep on the boat. Consider it part of your "emergency kit". Also, go ahead and buy the Bellows (13) and the O-Ring below it(5). The duckbills are a routine maintenance thing, but sometimes (and eventually)...
