Labor was one thing that was covered in full. Yes, they replaced the cable, although they originally commented on how neatly the thieves did the job, including disconnecting that cable.

One consolation is that 14,000 airline miles is enough to make it almost all the way to Hawaii! :D

It is Geico. I think they recently merged with BoatUs. I mentioned that my insurance didn't cover much as I was swiping my credit card for the final $4000 and the repair shop owner said, "Yeah, they get you for depreciation." So it must be a story he hears a lot.

And that's a percentage point lower than Seattle! If it wasn't for the beauty of the area, I wouldn't stick around!

We're just getting started on a kitchen remodel. Don't even get me started on labor rates and availability or supply costs and availability! It's a new world!

I found a pair of brand new (NOS) props on ebay for $1400. I offered $1000 and they accepted. Had them sent directly to BBlades to be re-worked. They're still there. The owner there said they looked brand new. Glad he was able to verify that!

If I would have seen my stolen one on Craigslist, I would have paid them that just to get it back! It was like new.

Here are the details. I ended up spending more on the props because I had them labbed a BBlades, as the original ones were. If I did the labor myself, I would have purchased a drive online, like the ones shown above.

Prices are crazy! That's about 1/3 of what I spent on the entire boat/trailer 5 years ago.

Update: Got the boat back home yesterday with the new outdrive installed. Final cost, including props and labor is right at $14000. Insurance paid $2800. I installed Mcgard locking nuts on 4 of the 6 outdrive mounting nuts. I know that's overkill, but if it happened again, my boating days would...

I hope you're right, but that's now how I understood it. The policy states that theft will be depreciated to a maximum of 80%. And their message said they're depreciating it 80%. I will know for sure soon.

They haven't even asked for the hours (which are at around 280), and the boat is in excellent condition. They haven't even seen a picture of the boat. If this stands, I'm going to be on the hook for 7 grand or so.
