I carefully used a single edge razor blade-I'm sure theres better ways. When I did it I just used GE Silicone from Lowes/HD. It has held up great but it does eventually get that dirty look.
Reason is side airbags kind of need a backer when deploying. Laminated glass is quieter and has better thermal protection too. Scary if your trying to bust one out in an emergency though.

I think so-if I remember it may be the same buzzer that the systems monitor on the dash uses. Ours began intermittent then totally out. There is an electronic buzzer thing behind the dash panel-a good electronics store might have something to replace it. I just never got around to it.
