Westerbeke Loping and now won't start

Did you allow your fuel tank to get low? I had a similar problem and fixed it buy bleeding air out of the fuel line after i filled the tank back up. On my boat the generator fuel pick up is at about 1/4 of a tank.

    Audio advice needed

The Rockford does have a 7 channel EQ. I plan to tinker with it some more but I still think it will be too weak. I agree 1 sub is not enough. Also you can adjust the gain but I heard that can potentially damage your speakers.

    Had trouble anchor grabbing

I agree with ttmott. I use a ratio of at least 6:1. It took me far to long to learn that.

    Audio advice needed

I have a Formula 350CBR with 16 JL Audio M6 speakers and a 10 inch JL Audio sub, an M600/6 amp and an M400/4 amp with an PMX3 Rockford Fosgate Head unit. The sound is clear but feels tinny. I was thinking of adding a monoblock amp for the sub. Is that a good idea? Any other suggestions? I am new...

About to pull the trigger on BoatUS. Any reason NOT to?

I have had Sea Tow for years and they have saved me thousands of dollars (I had a chaparral that was a real problem). One time they towed me 32 miles - would have been $2200!!!!!!! Wouldn't be without them.

    Help Me Find a Unicorn

I have a 350 CBR and love it. The sleeping quarters are tight but we are mostly day boaters. Fun for the intracoastal and Gulf. Cuts chop better than my 330 DA. Gets on plane instantly. Lots of seating. My dog loves the bow....Whatever you choose get outboards. The salt air is rough on...

DO NOT INSURE YOUR BOAT WITH PROGRESSIVE

I had a pipe leak in my cabin which ruined my flooring and subflooring. Progressive said it was normal wear and tear. Never even sent out an adjuster. Crooks!!!

    Getting Dog on the boat?

I would wait and see. You might be surprised at how well your dog canget on and off your boat. My 60 lb labradoodle who seems atheltic hates getting on and off. He loves it when he is on and has no problem leaping off into the water. I have to bring my swim platform up tp the level of the...

Boating Skills: What did you learn this year?

It was at Longboat pass on the Gulf side of the bridge. Those currents can be nasty. I was on a friends boat and he anchored off of the Jew Key sand bar. I told him he needed to get closer to the sandbar as the current was ripping. He didn't listen to me and one of his passengers couldn't...

Sunstream automatic boat cover installed - it is great

The boat is laser scanned and the canvas is highly custom for the boat. I'm not sure the cost of the replacement canvas. The mechanism can easily be altered to accommodate a different boat with different canvas. The canvas is very hardy with reinforcements in areas that get more stress or...

Boating Skills: What did you learn this year?

My anchor line was 30 ft chain and 150ft rope. I failed to adequately inspect my rope and I was anchoring at a sandbar with significant current. When my anchor set the rope snapped. Fortunately I have a good stern anchor so the day was salvaged but I lost my bow anchor and chain. I have all...

I learned that chain is cheaper than rope :(

Sunstream automatic boat cover installed - it is great

The cover was $16k. Took a lot of convincing to get that one past the admiral but it will really help preserve the boat. Florida sun is brutal. I will video it next time I am down there. It is driven by a marine battery with a solar recharging panel. The pics below are from the factory...

Sunstream automatic boat cover installed - it is great

I have a new Formula 350 CBR with trip outboards. I ordered it without a cover and had an automatic Sunstream Swiftshied mooring cover installed. I cant imagine how hard it would be to fully cover the boat manually. Anyhow, it works great. Literally I can cover or uncover the boat in 30...

Yet another - Boat Documentation Thread

I just purchased a new boat. I was told it may take up to 5 months to get my documentation. Worse yet I paid off my old boat in August. As of November 1 the CG did not release the lien on the boat. Almost killed my deal. Formula boats took the trade with the lien hoping they could sort it...
