Acetone should be a last resort. Megulair products like the one mention above are great. Finish with 303. You can use it on everything. Works incredible. Purchase a gallon and use it every time you leave the boat.

Your VHF is probably a Northstar. They no longer manufacture it. I had the same problem and found a microphone brand new on ebay. It took quite a while to find. Other options by different manufactures Garmin etc are expensive. Good Luck

I agree with you about the manifolds in a closed cooling engine. From experience the Risers and Elbows are another story.
