I never was a fan of the Navigator series. I had a customer that wanted one on his Meridian, since he had it on his SR. Maptech said they couldn't support them anymore, because the tech who designed the systems left the company. It was scary that they had all their eggs in one basket, with such...
Have you been able to check the voltage coming out of your battery switch?? The only place both the dash feed and engine come from is the switch. Try there and see what you have.
This weather is relentless. We are running about 2 weeks behind on some of our big jobs we have going on. Loosing a day or two here and there isn't that bad, but this weather affects everything. Even UPS and USPS run a few days behind. It's a like a snow ball effect, and we just can't get ahead...
Take a look at:

This GPS is portable, and you can use it on the boat, or on the car. Dosen't get much better than that. Only downfall is the lack of a touch screen for car use.
The plastic itself is not designed for weight, you can out your finger right through it. However, the surface of the plastic is so slick that most all snow slides right off, especially with a bit of wind. If you find pockets of snow or ice on your plastic, it wasn't done right.
I think this is one of the grey areas that no one can anwser. Technicaly you are required to have a NJ boating certificate, but I'm sure they would be lenient if you were just passing through. I dont know how they could expect anyone from another state far away to take the test if they are...

many times with great results. It's nice that you can stash it in the cabin, or have it closer to the TV. Having a TV antenna is great, but...
It's all part of living in the best state around:smt101:smt101:smt101.
It should be a uniformed system across the board. One license, and maybe endorsements, just like a CDL. One for jetskis, one for fresh water, one for pleasure boating, and one for commercial use.
The boating license and the Safety Certificate are two different animals. Even if you have the boat endorsement on your license, you still need to carry the certificate when on your boat.
At least that was the way it was explained to me.
I have done it many times, but I only use one brand of TV when I do it. I have ran the Insignia TV's up over 28 volts, and down to 10 volts with no problems at all.
Right now you have to look at cruising you do mostly. If you are mostly cursing the ICW, then you don't need a oversized unit. If you often find yourself cruising the ocean, or heading up and down the coast, you are going to want one with better range.
Most all are going to have the same...
