    Stainless Power Steering brackets

OK, I know I've seen replies to this several times, but I'll be darned if I can find just one when I'm looking for it! :smt100 Starting the list of things I need for this season and I'm finally going to have to replace that power steering bracket on my 2000 290DA. Trouble is, I'm looking for a...

    Official 290 Sundancer Thread

Hey all! Just took delivery of our new toy a couple of weeks ago. I realize there aren't many of us out there, but is there anyone else running BII's? How do you find the performance? I brought mine back from the marina where I bought it and ran great, but I didn't want to run it WOT until I got...

Yep...yet another Riser and Manifold question..

Downright scary. :wow: I'm guessing that is a known problem? Any other tips for a fellow 290 owner? I'll be putting the water heater up on starboard to allow water to dry underneath it after sanding and painting the rusted jacket. I noticed you had Bravo III's...interesting....my unit has...

Yep...yet another Riser and Manifold question..

Salt water, yes, but the first 4 years was fresh water flushed after every cruise (have spoken with the original owner). Last 2 years the boat has been on land and winterized. No external leakage. Survey ran engines up to temp with muffs and both risers were cool to the touch....no guarantee I...

Yep...yet another Riser and Manifold question..

Sound nice, but cost? I'm also concerned about the difference in expansion rates with stainless against the cast block...

Yep...yet another Riser and Manifold question..

Absolutely! Survey suggested changing them, hence the reason I checked into pricing here....I did a single 5.7 in my old boat and it was around $1500, but this is a MUCH tighter setup.

Yep...yet another Riser and Manifold question..

OK, need any of you 290DA owners to tell me how hard it is to inspect / replace manifolds and risers on the twin 5.0's. I can barely reach the plugs on the port engine due to interference with the water tank and have a VERY :wow: cramped engine compartment overall. I need to pull the risers...

    Potential 2000 290 Sundancer Owner...

OK...while I'm asking; Any of you guys replaced the "factory" TV/VCR with a flatpanel? What sizes have you installed? How have you installed them? Sorry to be the annoying Noob!

Soon to be Sea Ray owners

Oh, uh...learn from my mistakes....If you're considering use of a portable generator, be careful asking about the use of it! We're in the process of purchasing a 2000 290DA ourselves and this has proven to be an immensely helpful group. Oh, and watch out for icebergs!

    Potential 2000 290 Sundancer Owner...

:wow: AAAAHHHH!!!!! I wish to retract the question. Moreover, I wish to fold it, spindle it, mutilate it, macerate it and any other destruction method I can think of! So....Generator either in, or out == BAD. Got it!:smt101 Signing off!

    Potential 2000 290 Sundancer Owner...

Thanks! Well, the owner (bank repo) has accepted the offer, now for the survey.... Question: Where on earth do you fit a cooler and what size is it?? Doesn't look like it fits under the rear seat, but, maybe I'm mistaken. Also, do any of you run your A/C off a portable genny? I'm looking at...

onboard a/c, what is the surge amperage to start?

OK....help a brother out! I'm considering exactly the same generator on a 2000DA 290....what where you able to fine out? Waste of $$? 2nd Genny (still cheaper than onboard!)?

    Transmission Slipping?

I know I'm a noob here, BUT I had this same problem with a Bayliner w/a 5.7 and a B3 outdrive. Engine coupler stripped out. It's a rubber spline that has teeth on the inside and teeth on the outside. It protects the engine and outdrive in case there is a siezure. As a boat get's older, they dry...

    Potential 2000 290 Sundancer Owner...

I'm looking at purchasing a 2000 290 Sundancer that has been repossessed. It seems very clean, has 248 hours on twin 5.0's, no genset, RL70 radar and some funny engine flush system I've never heard of (Guardian RT-2000). I need to hear the good, the bad and the ugly from you fellow 290 owners...
