Hello, I'm starting a new thread as the other one I made got lost with the hydro lock issue. I just installed all new risers, manifolds, plugs and wires. Took the boat out for a run and it ran awesome for 20-30 min. As soon as I took it above 3,600rpms, then a loud beep and both engines...

The boat is now in freshwater so I should not run into that issue. The inside of the risers were just as bad as the outside.

I use Ams-Oil ATF in my ZF63

Yes, they were OEM but the boat was on the gulf side of Florida and sat in the water all year. I believe the salt content in the gulf is very high as well. I will make sure to spray the outside with an anti corrison spray and keep an eye on them now. Too expensive to replace every 4 years

I have a receipt of the risers and manifolds being replaced in 2016 at 485 hours(before I owned the boat). The boat had 557 hours when I purchased (Dec 2017) it now has 785 hours. The risers looked ok but the manifolds were horrible.

Update... Rookie mistake but man am I glad it was just my mistake. This week I went down and decided to pull the wire off the coil and see if the sound changes. Nothing changed but when I looked at the plug wires I noticed I had the two cylinders swapped. I swapped them back and boom knock went...

When were your fuel filters last changed? When I bought my boat upon survey we could not get it to go over 3,300 rpms and it would drop 100-200 and bounce around. I used that to my advantage and the previous owner did not want to look into it. His loss save me tons of $$$ and some new pre fuel...

Lots of things contribute to performance...this is where I’m at. 2007 Sea Ray 360 8.1S 3500rpms 16-17 knots 46-47gph 3900rpms 20-21 knots 54-56gph 4200rpms 24-25 knots 60-62gph I never really take her over 3,900rpms. Engine temp normally 170-178
