Hi Mark, I have some boat and model frig and mine won't work very long on DC but is cold on AC. My marina thinks its the stock stereo/amps draining the brand new AGM battery My understanding is that the frig has a safety sensor that wont kick on the compressor below 10.2volts. I changed out...
Hi Carbo, I swapped out the power supply/reticfier with the MPS 50 but that didn't work. Is it dangerous having a battery behind the frig? Can you give the exact gel battery and charger you purchased? Thanks for your help.
Carbo, I replaced my MPS35 power source with an MPS50 and frig is still doing the same thing. It runs well for a while on DC then eventually the compressor stops kicking on after several hours...my boat batteries are four brand new AGMs so compressor should have enough juice. Its almost like...
This is my second season with the boat and I noticed that the port drive makes more noise when in fwd/reverse gear than the stbd. Nothing scarey....no clunking, rattling or grinding. The surveyor never said anything about it so I didn't think anything of it. Now I sort of just want to know?
Thanks Alex...i think i am now more frustrated after reading the thread :-) Not to be thick, but when you say replace the power source you mean you are going to set up a dedicatd battery instead of using the house batteries which i think are the two on the port side?
Thanks Gary that seems like a good place to start as the frig does have power but apparently only enough to light the lightbulb inside the frig and not enough to kick on the compressor. I checked with Norcold and they do not sell the inverter so I am going to check back with Sea Ray. However...
Thanks for the response. My understanding is that this engine block has no raw water going through it, and is closed off...only the manifolds, risers, elbows have raw water running through them via the impellors. If I am mis-understanding please let me know? I had the same thought as you in...
I have a 2005 340 sundancer and my cabin frigerator works well on AC, but on DC the compressor doesn't seem to kick on (batteries were replaced with AGMs last year). There is power to the frig on DC as the light is on. Anyone give any advice? My hunch is that there is not enough draw to kick on...
This weekend i noticed my engine temps were 6-10 degrees higher than normal, but still normal for a big block (did not go higher than 170). I usually run around 159. The 8.1 motors have the orange coolant therefore, i thought engine temp should always remain constant like a car does regardless...

I sold my 88 300 in Sept 2012 for $16,500. It was a freshwater boat in excellent condition with 1000 hrs on original motors. The cabin upholestry, cabin cushions, cabin carpets, and cockpit carpets were all re-done (cabin was beautiful/like new). There was no rotting in the transom or...
