    Official 240 Sundancer Thread

Hey guys, just wanted to post an update. You guys had been real helpful when I bought my little 240 back in July and I gained lots of info over the summer from this thread. Sadly I lost my boat in Hurricane Sandy. Here are some pics: http://imgur.com/a/iYyop Luckily I had insurance. Apparently...

    New 240 Sundancer Owner

I do the same as CV-23. I begin with them in the up position, then adjust along the way based on load (people/fuel/water etc) I wanted to write because I wanted to underscore that the trim tabs are EXTREMELY sensitive on my 240. (I have a 2000) every little touch sends the boat listing in one...

This is my first season with the boat so I don't have any of those records but I assume it hasn't been changed as the previous owners used it very very infrequently. I have the merc 5.7

Today while boating ( in my2000 240 w/ 5.7 mercruiser) I overheated. Normally she runs solidly at 170-180 degrees and never fluctuates. I was cruising just over 3000 rpms when i heard the alarm and immediately powered down. Could I have sucked something into the intake? After about a half...

I have a button on the dash ( near the light switches and blower etc) that turns the water system on, but it works whether it is on or not ?? But if you are having problems, maybe this switch us thrown.

The manual on my 2000 says to keep it on at all times when on shore power. It charges the batteries I turn it off before unplugging the shore power.

    Mounting a flatscreen

If you have it working on 12v what's the advantage if also keeping the 110v? I was planning on hardwiring a 12v tv into the electrical system. It'll still work on battery power while on shore power, right? I should add that I have a power converter on board. If I understand this correctly, I...

    Mounting a flatscreen

I have an open breaker on the converter panel. It would have been for the a/c, but alas I don't have one. Can I hook it up to there?

    Mounting a flatscreen

How are the 12v tv's wired up? Can they be hard wired or do I need to plug it into a cigarette lighter?

    Mounting a flatscreen

I have a 2000 Sundancer 240 and would like to mount a 19' flatscreen to the wall that divides the cabin from the head. (I am going to tap into the electricity and add another outlet, then run a hidden extension cable under the "shelf" that wraps around the cabin. I do not have a generator and...

Has anyone tried to install a TV in the 240? If so where? I'd like to put a small flatscreen on the right side, against the wall of the head facing the front of the boat. This brings up a few issues, there is no outlet there, so I would have to run a line there. Has anyone done this? how hard...

Here are the capped "holes" in the gunwales. This isn't my boat, but I have the same thing. there is one on each side. This is not the hole for the transom light, these are much larger openings, but are capped in the exact same manner. There is one on each side

Thanks for the reply. I'll post pics of the rubber capped holes when I can (I'm at work now). Fishing poles seem to fit nicely in there, but I doubt they are for poles since it is not necessarily a fishing boat. I'm at Point Lookout just off the Jones Inlet and was thinking of taking her out...
