I would definitely recommend hiring a Captain for a few hours. I did when I first bought my boat and it helped immensely. Pay really close attention to the wind and current. Unfortunately, with our model of boat and a bit of wind, docking can be quite the adventure - get a really good boat hook!

My boat - 87' 300DB - has a key in the head that operates the macerator pump in order to pump out the holding tank overboard. I'd like to replace it with a toggle switch. Has anyone does this? I find it odd they would use a key - anyone know why this is? Thanks, Randy
