Thanks everyone for the input! I am assuming that our "Progressive Dynamics-Inteli Power" chargers do well with the AMG type batts?

So, My house batteries are dying on my 2007. We has a wicked bout of sulfur and Co2 alarms this weekend on the hook for 3 days/2nights and then a no-start saved only by the emergency crossover switch (TY searay!) So, what is the consensus on what I should run on my 280: Wetcells, AMGs...

I would just have a look at everything as best you can and make notes, like buying a car. (If not through a reputable dealer then have a marine mechanic have a look.) In the first few months you might find some details for them to fix under warranty. If your boat is going to be around salt...

We have deep waters out here in California. I have 300feet of anchor rode plus the 25' of chain. I think the anchor locker can hold twice what I have. If you have the windlass make sure you use the correct size chain and rope. Best, Rich

I have a C80 mounted in a great way. I had the fuel gauge moved to the top row (left) and the C80 takes it's place just above the wheel. Here is a pix of the bracket. You can see the cables coming up also. A very solid usable mount! Cheers, Rich

Yup, exactly. I was at the boat today and I snapped a pix for you. To adjust, pop the cover off with the button on the front. There are two black slotted/flathead screws on the side up high (on either side of the shifter lever in in my photo below). One is the tension/drag on the lever...

There are drag adjustments for the throttles! (at least on my 2007). Mine felt stiff so I tried to loosen them but after I did they would not hold 1000rpm but would slip down to idle. It made it tough to go 5mph in my harbor. It is easy, just a screwdriver. Pop the cover off and on the...

We have a West Marine 9.5 foot dink. It attaches to the swim step with Weaver Davits. We pull it forward and it rests on the back of the boat when under way. We also have a Merc. 3.5 outboard for power. When we bought it it was the largest motor with built in fuel tank. I built a mount to...

Found a 280..Roadtrip to Kalamazoo Mi anyone?

Wow, If it is clean and you get a decent mechanics ok: buy it! I paid twice that for my 2007 (new) with genie and AC. If you can, get the extended warranty! ( I almost never do, but with boats its very nice) Good Luck! Rich

My 280 is a 2007 and it has a switch to turn it on and off on my main electric paned downstairs and I think that is it. Was the shore power on? ie: microwave working...?

    Two questions

Regarding your RPMs the Port has a higher RPM and therefore has less load. It could be your trim tabs or maybe there was a slight side current and you were turning just slightly to go straight this will tip the boat to the windward side and increase drag. If you were a sterndrive one outdrive...

    Smartcraft fuel tank reading error

My sense is the problem is in the senders because both types of gauges are in agreement. It could also be a wireing / ground thing. I would start by spend an hour with an electrical meter trying to make sense of it or call a smart mechanic. :) Good luck, Rich
