Smileys on my boat leaked from the time they were installed until I sold the boat. Tried seam sealer and all other manner of “solutions.” Nothing helped.
water intrusion around upper hatches is a common issue on the 2000-ish year group.
I had a survey fail for same reason.
Eventually found one that was dry and my first project was re-bedding those hatches (did the windlass at the same time)
Windshield area is another are to watch.

You’re right, they are a few mm shorter because of the plates.
I was never able to identify who made them, or their exact length.
I suspect I’ll finally have to upgrade to the Hardin Stainless pumps.
I bought the kit a few years ago and have been buying impellers annually since then. I was able to order new impellers this spring, but that link is no longer active. I suspect they may be out of business.
On my 340 DA, the transmission “dipstick” is the same as the plastic filler cap. You read it by removing, wiping then completely screwing it back in, then remove and read.
