brightman, saw that you are from Madison. Do you keep your boat on the river? I'm in Louisville and boat here as well. Great looking boat! Love the 80's 300s! Take care. Bryan Arnett, "Post Time"
Will be interesting to see who has done this. Had a friend who had a 31' Tiara which had been converted to Volvo diesels. Also a straight inboard boat vs. V Drives. Worked out well for him and the boat rand really well. As you may know, the 300 weekender's optional power was 454's. A lot heavier...
Looks great. I grew up with late 70's Sea Ray 220's and 240's in the same color scheme. Takes me back! You had a question about what to expect in performance with the 260MerCruiser in your boat. I would expect if propped right you should see low 40's. 43-44 MPH. I don't remember what the fuel...
I worked for several years for a dealership that specializes in MerCruiser stern drives. I would stay away from the SEI drives and go with a Merc drive. Not convinced that the initial savings is going to work out in the long run because of the use of inferior internals. Best bet would be to find...
Hoggied, look at Metabo's photos of his on photobucket. My parents bought a 77 brand new and Metabo's is completley original. Brings back great memories.
I've seen this boat. Its on the Ohio River just above the Markland Dam about 60 miles above Louisville and 50 miles or so below Cincinnati. Its at Pier 99 Marina and it is as clean as the pictures show.
Yeah, would hate to try to squeeze twin V6's in a 268! The 270 is so much more boat. That being said, I have always loved the 268's. Great styling and performance along with a ton of room.
I worked at both the Louisville and Lexington Boat Shows this year. Nothing bigger than 26 foot bowriders either. Lots of pontoons and deckboats, which for our dealership was the hot sellers. Very few runabouts sold, but used cruisers were popular. We had pictures of all our used and brokerage...
Good power for 4 cylinder engines. They are a bit noisy. My preference would be V6 or V8 power, but if the price is right and the boat is really nice, I think it would be fine. Good luck in your decision!
Have to say we lost a true genius and such an icon in the muscle car industry. Never had a Cobra or Shelby but we had several 60's eras Mustangs. Sorry I didn't keep my last one. May never be able to afford to replace it! Rest In Peace Mr. Shelby, and thank you for your contribution to the...
