Hi Hamrick, that's about all the pictures I had, but I'll look. I sold the boat a few years ago, so I can't take more.
The seat was made from 3/4" plywood. I trimmed it with 1" x 1" poplar trim, so that means I cut the plywood 1 1/2" smaller on the sides. The seat itself is the width of the...
Thanks for the info! I just ordered the new pump from Amazon $47.58 with tax (I'm in CA and Amazon collects the tax). My 340 sat for a long time and all the fuel was bad. I've since replaced the fuel filters twice, both engine fuel pumps, the carbs, and now the gen fuel pump. I'm crossing my...
Ok, I guess no one is really interested in this thread, but anyway; I replaced the stator and that fixed the problem. The problem was the excitation windings. So, if you have a bad excitation winding, you can rig it by hitting the field with an external 24v source. Maybe this info will help...
Question, I really need some help. My starboard drivetrain has a rattle. When idling in gear (forward) it rattles. I can't hear it rattle on plane, but the engines are so loud it might. The port doesn't rattle. I checked the coupling to the v-drive and it's tight. We recently had the boat hauled...
I put one on our boat and we love it. It really modernizes the older 340. The only down side is because the 340 is already stern heavy the extra leverage makes carrying a dinghy harder. I still do it, but I bury the platform when getting on plane. Once on plane, it's not a problem. I had the...
Ok, well I've learned some new things. First, the Quicksilver is made by Generac. The stator has an integrated excitation winding, which means the field windings and the excitation are wound together. The "jump start" in my gen set is a common trick used when there is a problem with the...
I just had mine re-done and went with 16.5 x 16.5 and they work great. GPS SOG was 21.9 mph at 3200 rpm in fresh water. This boat came with a 17 x 17 prop.
I get a lot of gen parts from ASAP "Parts for Techs". Just do a Google search and you'll find it. They have a full tune-up set for just a little more than this guy wanted to charge you for points! Problems with the points is common in these gens.

Keith, I just had my props re-done using the prop scan process at Thomas Marine Propeller in Sacramento CA. They are 3 bladed, tuned to 16.5 x 16.5. This was a huge improvement for our boat. She comes out of the hole much faster and has much more lift at the stern, thus requiring less trim tab...
FYI, my pump ran for the first six months. I had leaks everywhere: at the cockpit hose bib, the head faucet, the water connection, the hose behind the water connection and hose bib, and the water pump check valve leaked pressure back into the tank.
I'm not aware of any in-line filter added to any of these boats. Could have been added by a previous owner? Our boat was like Keith's, we had to replace most of the water connections. Our 1989 has a vac-u-flush so the water may not come from the same spot. Our toilet water supply comes through...
That's cool and it's amazing how many of these boats they were building each year at that time. I believe mine was also built at the Merit Island plant and was originally sold in Dallas.
Jason, what number 89 DA is yours? Mine is number 720. All the panels have DA720 written on them. Rusty Higgins told me they started each year at 500, so mine would have been the 220th 340 DA made in 89. Rob
