Now the mechanic is thinking that we have 2 valves sticking when she heats up. Two tested good, the other two didn't pressure test well when the engine is warm.
The valve cleaner treatment has been poured into the carb, and tomorrow out on the lake we go again to run her .... say a...
We've changed out the coil a couple times in the last year ... and it's not that. (We have two extra coils now in our collection now ...)
Tomorrow we go back to the marina and take her out for a spin again - see if the problem has been solved. We are not bringing her home this time until...
:smt013 Back to square one ....
That didn't take care of the problem. :smt009
Just threw another $491.00 at the boat Saturday. Put it back in the water, made it less than a half hour - and the engine bogged down on us again.
Tried to throttle up to get away from a storm and make it...

Had her back in the water this weekend .... still doing the bogging down. Had to creep home in a down-pour because we couldn't get the boat to throttle up!
Dropped ANOTHER $491.00 into the boat Saturday .... I'm starting to really hate...
I thought I would give everyone an update!
We (hopefully) have resolved the problem once and for all. We took the boat to a different marina and had a fresh set of eyes on the problem. We had the mechanic go over the fuel system from top to bottom – from the vent on the back all the way...

We've been having the same problem with our Sea Ray Seville - put in an electronic ignition system, and a couple weeks later we took it back out - and put our Seville back original. It didn't make a difference, still had the loss of power once the boat had been run 20-45 minutes.
There is...
We took the boat to a different marina, found a new mechanic.
Left him a list of what's been done to our Seville so far, and we left instructions to go inspect and go through the entire fuel system - from the vent, to hoses, filters, carb.
A set of fresh eyes on the problem and a...
I want to thank all who has replied! We are checking out the fuel system. We are also changing out the inline fuel filter to the carb again tomorrow. We thought this was changed when our carb work was done - but I don't trust the mechanic that has been working on our boat now.
We've...
We just replaced the fuel pump filter. (It didn't look bad)
We have had this boat in to the mechanics SIX times for this same issue. The ignition system has been replaced. The coil. It's been tuned up, timing re-set, carb rebuilt. Treated the gas with Seafoam ... etc. We lost almost the...
I,m having an ongoing problem with my 140hp 86' Seville. We took it out this past weekend and it ran great. We cruised for about 10 min. at slow speed, maybe 5mph, then opened it up for about another 5 min. It planed out great and ran smooth. Then we slowed back down to a slow cruise for 20-25...
Thanks for replying, J.Wilt. Not from Trufant. I live on the Tittabawasse River north of Wixom Lake in Gladwin county. I picked the name from a place I visited in the U.P. years ago called Pinestump Junction.
Hello from MI this Memorial Day. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. I have some questions concerning my 1986 Seville, but I need to find some of my paperwork first. Being a new member and this being my first post, I just wanted to say hello.
