So were you able to add the JL 7.7's in the existing cockpit location?
where did you put you sub? It sounds like you have a very similar setup to what I am considering doing.
So do you have yours inside the cabinet? That looks a little different than mine, as I don't have the shelf above. How did you route your power/ ground lead?
Cliff, thanks for the reply. I actually installed the same head unit last summer I think, the Kmr-550. This year I am just looking for a little more. I was thinking the head compartment for the amp as well. I am also looking at adding either another of full range speakers in the back, or a sub...
Have any 215EC owners done stereo upgrades to their boat? That is my next projects and have several ideas, but I wanted to see what other people have done. I am really trying to find the best place to mount my amp. Any ideas?
Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to try and make new access panels so I can go back to the original setup if I want to. I am just trying to decide now whether to put full range speakers or small subs. I will have to do some measuring.
Thanks again.
Did you decide to add speakers to the access panels? I was considering the same thing and just ran across this thread. I was actually thinking of making new access panels from starboard with the speaker cut outs. I don't like permanent holes either hahah.
Thanks for the reply. But I am trying to get the upholstered panel off that is in the head. I understand the cabin door must be shut. But doesn't the interior panel, or door, have to be removed?
I have a 99 model 215 EC. I am looking for the fuse panel. I thought it was in the head area, behind th helm. There appears to be an access panel there, but I can't remove it. There are no visible screws or fasteners. I have tried pulling on it a little and nothing. Is this where the fuses are...
The previous owner had the switch on battery 1. Maybe because they knew battery 2 was dead. I'm really just trying to figure out the setup. The box I am referring to is not a fuse box. It is definitely some type of electronics. I'm just not sure what it is doing. My thought is that one red wire...
I recently purchased a 99 215 express cruiser with a dual battery setup. The battery switch was on 1 and had full charge. When switched to 2 there was barely any voltage. So looking at the setup, I have 2 deep cycle batteries. Each have a smaller gauge red wire that goes to a small box at the...
Thanks for all the replies. Unfrtunately after looking at it in person, there were too many red flags. It just did not seem to be taken care. So the search contnues! But thanks again
