Nice faucets! On another note, I was wondering if it's a bad idea to store an outboard down in the engine room. It is a 4hp 2-cycle merc for the dinghy I just got. The gas tank is built into the motor and does not leak at all but I don't want to take any unnecessary chances with fumes down...
I just replaced mine. It has a plastic housing where your cover looks like metal - interesting. Did you take out the entire assembly including the pulley? I only took out the housing and it was a pain to get to the bolts in the back when putting it back together! Next time I may just take...
Thanks. Before I installed the new bottle I turned it upside down to make the float act like it was out of oil and just like you said, it acted like a switch when I checked it with my voltmeter.
I get up to about 48 mph at WOT with no load. It cruises nicely at 25 at just over 3000 RPMs. The...
My next project is to replace a cracked gear lube bottle. The replacement part has been changed from the original round type to a square one. Has anyone done this before? I am wondering how to test that I've connected the alarm wires to the right leads. They are both the same color. Thanks.
Hey guys,
I haven't posted before but have enjoyed this thread since getting my 270 a few years back. This winter I got tired of crawling under a tarp and ordered a carport kit and got it put together over Christmas. It will make it SO much easier to come and go to the water. The roof, fittings...
We have the 6" round clear vinyl windows. They don't leak because there is enough slope to drain away from them. There is enough light too. But one benefit of having bimini attached directly to the arch is the added height in the cockpit that you would get. We'll probably go the valence route...
I may have answered my own question. I looked under the dash last night (that is a tight fit, and I am a skinny guy) and noticed that one of the leads to the heater was missing a wire. Just looked at the wiring diagram on-line. Turns out it is the lead for the power source! I will find some...
Hey all, we went down to Portland yesterday to bring our Sea Ray to its new home in Seattle. It is in awesome shape for a 20 y.o. boat. We were told that the heater doesn't work. When you turn the switch at the helm nothing happens. I assume it is something electrical. It is meant to heat...
