David welcome to CSR. We have a 270 DA and really enjoy spending time on it. Mine is single engine which saves me money on maintenance cost and makes it easier to work in the engine room. We cruise at 28 mph and can hit 35 mph at WOT on a good calm day. If you are planning on spending any...
With my drive all the way down I turn up mud when I am in 3 ft of water. I try not to go in below 3.5 to 4 feet without trimming the unit up. Prop repair or replacing can get costly.

I agree with Mark. I have the single 7.4L MPI with BIII and it has plenty of power for this model. Remember, twin engines are twice the service and maintenance cost for engines and outdrives.
Good luck with your search and welcome to CSR.

Good luck with your survey. I agree with the others, the bravo III can be a issue, the only thing I have done with mine is change the bellows, if they are dry rotten and start to leak they can let in a good amount of water. A new outdrive will put a dent in the wallet also.
On mine the AC...
Coogan my engine room light switch is on the left side dash panel second switch from left above the trim tabs, just right of the horn switch. Hope this helps you.
Re: Anyone have a 94-98 270DA (wide) or 290DA on a trailer?
My 270 DA is 9'2" wide and I tow with my F350. Have a 2013 Tidewater trailer weighing a little over 2000#. The Boat and trailer weighs between 10,500 and 11,500 depending on fluids and stuff in the boat. I don't have any problem...

I believe you are correct that the boat settles down onto the trailer causing the bow to pull away from the stop and the stepper the angle the further the bow will be away from the bow stop. I'm sure I will replace with a strap, that cable snap has put a little fear in me. I will try...

When that cable breaks it sounds like a gunshot and scared the crap out of me. I do like the Idea of a heavy strap.. Did you put all 20 ft. of the strap on the winch or did you cut it shorter? Once the boat is on the trailer it wont move forwards with breaking, but I like it snug...
Thanks for the info guys. The trailer is a tidewater trailer, I bought new from the Sea Ray Dealer made for my 270 DA. The winch is a Dutton-Lainson DL3200A. I do float the boat on about 2ft from the bow stop. The last two feet at the ramp isn't bad with the winch, but when the boat is...
I have a 99 270DA on a bunk trailer. Trailer is only year and half old, but the winch was underside for the weight of this boat. Cable Has broken a couple times already.. What kind of winch do you use? What's good? What's should I stay away from? I pull the boat out about six times in the...
Barry, Thanks for the invite. I was looking at the charts and Chesapeake boat basin is not that far if I launched the boat from Crisfield Md. Unfortunately the wife and I are working that weekend. If something would change in our work schedule we would love to be there. Please keep us in...
