I'm changing all the bellows and hoses on my Alpha 1 Gen 2s. Having cut the old remote oil hoses between the transom and bell housing I threw them in the skip, of course... Today the replacement hose has arrived ....but this has to be cut to length! Anyone happen to know the exact length...

Wow - I've not been on CSR for a while but just saw this thread has been viewed 21,000+ times! Anyway... I think my steering cable is on its way to the recycling skip. The parts manual says the cable is 16.5 ft - but from my initial look it seems Teleflex only do 16ft or 17ft "The Rack" cables...

Fixed! Was indeed the circulation pump. New pump has a reasonable but smooth resitance when you turn it - so I suspect my other pump is on its way out too.. Both old pumps span easily - although one was quiet. Anyway - In the mean time I'm back running again. Thanks for your help, Nigel.

Great Lakes did an excellent job for me... I just sent them my hull number/boat details and they made up a complete new canvas set exactly as the originals. Only bits I had to fit myself were the snaps (or whatever they're called) for the rear cover - so they lined up with where the opposite...

Hi Juma, This is interesting and might help explain an issue I'm having with overheat alarms that I can't trace - but suspect its electrical/an earthing issue somewhere. Why did you suspect your alternators were faulty? What were the symptoms? Nigel.

How flat did your batteries go? - If they went very very flat or over-flat a number of times it could be you'll not get a full charge into them again.. You might have fixed the original issue with the alternator connection but won't see it if your batteries have passed-on..
