Need to source new CAT 3126 Aftercoolers part#278-6038

Removed my after coolers and had them sent to the local shop for pressure testing and cleaning. Mechanic advised that they did not look very healthy, with some water corrosion detected. Advised to source some new ones just in case they were shot. Can anyone point me to a reliable source for some...

    Catapillar 1000hr Service

Thank you for all of the information, that is VERY useful to know that I don't specifically require CAT to do the service I'm looking for. that gives me more options to ponder. At the time of purchase the vessel had about 800 hours and (as per Frank's recommendation) I had an engine survey done...

    Catapillar 1000hr Service

I own a 2001 400SD with 3126 Cats that are due for their 1000 hour service which my understanding includes a major valve adjustment. The only local Catapillar service centre recently bumped their hourly rates to $220/hr and their quote for the service was for 12 hours and close to $3,000 inc...

Here's a pic of the area I was speaking of for those interested. This picture was taken from inside the compartment under the galley floor looking aft. The hidden space I was speaking of is just aft of the compartment where it steps up to the level of the AC unit. It's inside the boxed area you...

Just aft of the hold under the galley floor where it steps up to a ledge the same level that the AC unit sits on. The area I am referring to is under that ledge in the aft section of the hold in the galley floor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Public Information Notice: So in correcting my fresh water leak from my failed master head shower fittings, this is what I found out...the water that leaked from the master head shower fittings located behind the galley fridge ( and I would suspect it might be the same from a possible leak in...

Lol, yes Searay a US built boat comes with Metric water fittings. I live in Canada, a metric country, but I can only buy the same fittings in Imperial sizes at the major hardware stores, go figure. I needed to special order them. Word to the wise, if you try to substitute the imperial for metric...

Well after removing the fridge and accessing the Master shower fittings I discovered that my cold water fitting had literally blown apart. Once I source some new fittings, install and test then I can reinstall my fridge. After which I can then remove the steps to the galley and try to find a way...
