well I got my seville out and figured I would change the oil in the outdrive. I have the alpha 1 drive. I used a pump to fill it from the bottom and all I could get in it was just a little over 1 quart before it started leaking out of the top vent hole. It sure doesn't sound like very much oil...
wetsand them with 1500 grit and then use some 3M rubbing compound to make them clear again. I'm going to do it with mine soon. I've done this to many auto headlight that get the same way with age. works great
I finally got a good tach installed so I could see what my WOT really was. It will run between 4k and 4100 max. I downloaded the prop chart but I didn't see my boat listed or maybe it goes by something else. But currently I have the 14.5 by 19 pitch. It seems that most of the boats on that prop...
Hmm, I went out and looked at the fin and it looks to be factory. I can't see any place where it has been welded on to the lower unit so I don't know what the deal is..
My sister got an old searay for free that she was goint to fix up but after looking in to it she decided it was too far gone. I figured I would pull the outdrive and store it in the shop. I can't seem to figure out what it is. The top looks to be the Pre Alpha because of the fins on the side on...
My sister has a boat that looks just like yours only I think it's in worse shape. She bought it without me looking at it first, bad move on her part. If she can't get her money back I think she is just going to part it out. So if there is anything you need just let me know.
I have a 1988 sea ray seville 21FT. The prop looks almost new so I'm thinking the guy has put a new prop on it. The prop has 14.5 19 stamped on it. My engine is a 4.3 V6. The engine runs great but won't rev past 4k. We have a small lake so zipping from end to end doesn't take very long but it...
I've been taking it out to the lake every evening for some joy rides. I'm feeling alot better about it now. I think just getting the feel of the boat and how it reacts is a huge thing. My biggest fear was not knowing what to expect and what the boat was supposed to do and feel like. Never had or...
Thanks for the info. I'll go with the syn. also then. I'm not too worried about the cost. I just want the best for it so maybe I can get some hrs of use without too much trouble. If you could let me know on the weight that would be great. I just want to make sure I get the right stuff.
