    Books you have enjoyed reading

His famous novel is "Where is Joe Merchant?" and is decent if you don't mind weirdness & it being far fetched. As far as I know his only other novel is "Salty Piece of Land" and I didn't like it as much. He has other works (childerens books, short stories, autobiographies) , but I think...

    Books you have enjoyed reading

If you like short stories Jimmy Buffett has some decent ones. Where is Joe Merchant was decent... if you're in the right mood (the end was weird). I didn't really like his newest novel - can't remember the name. His auto-biographies are pretty entertaining reads too if you like him.

    Books you have enjoyed reading

Life of Pi by Yann Patel was an absolutely phenomenal read. It starts slow, but the ending is mind-blowing. Totally worth it if you want a great read. Funny thing is everyone I know that has read it took something slightly different from the ending.

    Pirates ???

I'm in awe that no one has made an ass-pirate joke. And frankly I'm too tired to do it myself.

    Mystic, CT Aquapalooza

Years ago I used to occationally launch in Groton under that big bridge (can't remember the name of the bridge). It was a decent launch that was never busy. Go out the Thames & it's a pretty easy ride over to Mystic. I used to launch in Norwich most of the time (really nice launch), but...

    Lake Norman

LKN is great. No restrictions on the size or HP, but realize that it is a busy lake. If you go further down the Catawba (a few dams down) there are some big lakes that aren't so busy. Depends what you want Lake Norman does have plenty of facilities (bars, marinas, fill stations). The only...

240 Sundeck Thread - Questions and Answers

Thanks to everyone for the responses. I think everyone got the wrong idea when I said that the boat seemed underpowered. I've only been on the boat once & we weren't really pushing it. I only said it b/c I had a 20' Stingray with the same engine. This boat is much bigger & heavier - I was...

240 Sundeck Thread - Questions and Answers

Thanks, that link looks like it'll have the kind of info I'm looking for. Yeah, it has an Alpha I. The boat has a 260hp/350ci Mercruiser, and that just seems underpowered to me. Also, I'm a little worried about fuel consumption. Anyone have any info on those two things?
