Considering a trip to Powell this summer from CO. I'm hoping someone can help us out. Im wondering which marina would be our best bet, as i mentioned we will be coming from Colorado so not really wanting to drive clear to the AZ part of the lake. My folks are coming along with their RV so...
Sounds good. I agree. I didn't come on here looking to have a battle. I was just trying to contribute to the discussion. I agree a truce is in order, I apologize for letting my emotions get the best of me and saying things I shouldn't have. I do respect your experience and input. Thanks
Neither can you Mr. Henry! I shared my experience, thats IT! If someone wants to use it or not is up to them. You've made it perfectly clear how you feel about it, as unfounded as I feel it may or may not be. Your only "data" against my fix is that there is no data. Why couldn't you have...
I agree that if warranty is a consideration, by all means follow mercs guidelines. The cutout is not under much pressure as you mention, nor is it in a high temp environment. Warm maybe from the engine while underway, but hot? Not hardly. Also as you mention, if I leak was to develop for...
Guess I'm not the only idiot that has done this and had success...

Noted. Was it you two engineers that came up with the lousy design in the first place? Steel shaft in wet environment and no reasonable access to it without major cost and/or headache...Genius!! Or were you absent that day?
No need to worry about my "glued plug" Unless it is pounded directly on with a ball peen, it isn't coming out, even then the cast aluminum would break too. The only reason I know this is because I had to take it apart a 2nd time to replace the swivel shaft and seal, should have done those the...
Just my .02 Absolutely no reason to drill all those holes for your cut out! Use a centerpunch to mark the corners of your hole then just connect the dots using either a dremmel with a cutoff wheel or similar. It took me 10 minutes. Take care when cutting and you can re-use the piece you cut...
As duckmnn said...Check the float switch in your shower sump. More than likely, your float switch is innop and the sump box is overflowing. Had this issue on my last boat. Woke up to 2-3" of water on the floor. Replaced the float and all was well.
Ok Thanks. Thanks for the welcome! Well...mine wouldn't have been "taken apart" but as usually happens...someone took it apart with their drunk foot and broke the cover off. Not exactly the greatest engineering design SR has come up with. Maybe Ill look for something a little more flush? And...
I was taking my props off on my b3 the other day and noticed on both of the rams, the inner shaft moves in and out about an inch. My first thought was seals and bleeding until I read this. Does this sound like the same issue as yours? Is this bolt accessible on the outside or do I need to take...
