Just trying to make my boat right w/o getting ripped off!
I've read many posts here with people re powering, giving exact quotes for engines, etc.
What is a reasonable cost for this job?
Thanks, & Happy Holidays!
Or, has anyone done this on a 460 w/ gas engines?
The damper plate most are talking about here are the steel ones w/ metal springs that absorb the engine shocks(or drive train mishaps).
The damper I'm talking about has rubber to absorb the shock loads, the rubber has disintegrated, so now I have...
This is a diesel engine!
As said, there IS no plugs or wires.
The engine sounds fine, comes up to RPM, keeps up with the other engine.
My mechanic told me there were rubber blocks that absorb the shock loads in the damper & he pointed out the black rubber small chunks coming from the bellhousing...
What is the average cost to replce th damper plates on a Searay 460 w/ twin cummings engines & ZF vdrives?
I'm told the engines need to be removed as there is no room to remove the trans.
Any Ideas?
There is black rubber coming out of the bell housing vents 7 a terrible clatter!
