    2007 44DB Hull Construction

Regarding hollow stringers, look at the inside of the stringers where your motor mounts are bolted to the stringers. You will find a white plug about 4-5" wide (or just a hole if they have been removed). You pull that out to access the nuts for the motor mount bolts. Easy to check for water...

My rule of thumb is I need 22' with antennas up, 18' with antennas down. That has worked for me.

Drain, flush and fill coolant on westerbeak 7.6 diesel generator

I have a 10BTD and have done it a few times. I have a shopvac running and pull the coolant hose off of the HE slowly while vacuuming in the coolant. It still makes a mess. Every time I do it, I think of installing a valve or something to make this easier, but so far, have not. Good luck!

The accumulator tank smooths out the water flow and the pump(s) cycle less. it is not a "have to have" but a "nice to have". If you are happy with your system, no need to add one.

Hi All, FWIW, here is a pic of my water heater and accumulator tank. When we bought that boat, there was approx. 6" of water in this compartment and no telling for how long (and WH dead obviously). You can see where the old water heater was. We drilled the 2 holes to see if water had...

Sure could be. I should have mentioned that as the same thing happened to me on a trip to Bimini in June. We were bouncing around pretty good for 3 1/2 hours. Once docked, I could hear the alarm. Found water by the water heater, but no leaks. Dried everything and no more issues.

I have replaced mine twice due to leaks in that floor compartment. I now have 2 water alarms down there now for early warning. My cold water inlet will start to drip every year or two. i just replace the pipe and fitting and all good. i need a better/long term fix. i think the...

2023 Bahamas Exuma Fling - 14 nights in paradise

Thanks for your help. You are running into the same conflicting info as I did. This morning, I did receive an EM response from the Bahamas tourism people: "Please note All visitors must process a valid passport to enter the Bahamas." It's a shame, we were ready to go, weather looks good, and...
