I was thinking the same thing. Take it in a little rougher water each time to learn my way around things and find out what feels right and what feels like too much for me to handle. Most of my boating will be in smaller local lakes anyway so I don't think I have to worry too much.
We looked at:
Sea Ray 240 Sundeck
Four Winns 234 Funship
Chaparral 236 Sunesta
Crownline 240ex
We pretty much eliminated the Four Winns and Chaparral right away as they weren't nearly as 'nice' as the Crownline and Sea Ray. Then came the hard part. The Crownline and Sea Ray were both very...
Ok I think I understand now. I probably should have thought more before I asked the original question. I guess it just depends on my experience and personal judgement. I probably won't take it anywhere where swells could be an issue anyway. I was just kind of curious.
From what I can see, that looks like a really really good deal. Take a look at it and take it out on the water and if everything works, jump on it as it will probably sell fast. Good Luck!
I definitely understand they can take any boat down...especially in bad weather. With clear weather and minor swells, would the Sundeck be able to go out without problem? Sorry if these are dumb questions but I'm just trying to figure out where I should and where I shouldn't take the boat.
I have always wondered what it would handle water wise. Would it be big/stable enough for any lake even in rough weather? Or would some of those bigger waves of the Great Lakes during bad weather be too much for it? Is there a 'scale' that people use to determine if their boat is able enough for...
