I think the best thing is to get some high quality flush mount LEDs like SeaBlaze, drill the hull, and seal it up good with 5200. Virtually all boat manufacturers are doing this at the factory now, including SeaRay.

There's no such thing as a new 270 SLX, and there has never been a 270 SLX with an outboard, so I'm not sure anyone here can answer that question.

Yes. When I hit the down trim switch it sounds as if it is straining. Similar to when it is all the way in the down position and you hit it again anyways.

The pump has power.

I stood on it while someone hit the down switch and got it lowered a little. Then raised it. Now it won’t go down at all. It raises just fine.

I ran the boat while still in the lift. We didn’t cruise with it. I had someone hit the trim switch and I stood on the dock and watched. The outdrive lifts fine. It does not go down when the down switch is hit. It does make a motor sound when I hit down. It sounds different than normal operation...

I have a 2006 270SLX. Last time I put it in the lift (about 4 months ago) I forgot to put the drive all the way down. Today was a nice day so I lowered the boat in the lift and ran it, but the out drive wouldn’t lower. It raises fine, but won’t lower. Suggestions?

USAA boat insurance policies are underwritten by Progressive. I shop it around every year and the USAA coverage is by far the cheapest.

There is also a breaker in the engine bay on the port side. Mine tripped one time and I had to pull it up by hand after a long day anchored. When we got back to the boat lift we traced the wires back and saw the breaker was tripped. Easy fix.

I think all of the 496 Mag's that Sea Ray uses in this generation of boats are freshwater cooled. If it's Seacore, the outdrive should say Seacore on it.

Yes, but be careful. I pulled my radio and the connecting wires were short. It was a PITA to get one of them plugged back in.
