Hi, Sorry to say I have never been able to find a replacement. The fuel gauge portion of mine does not work. Searay has a part by the same number they sent me, but it is a totally different style gauge and will not work.
I had a 280, tried to pull it with a Dodge Ram 2500 gas. Could hardly make it up the boat ramp. Went and bought a Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel, was like night and day.
Our home marina and the marina’s we visit all have really nice bath facilities, furnish nice towels, and have plenty of hot water! Also, not using the shower on the boat is just one less thing I have to clean. We do use the aft exterior shower to rinse off after swimming in the salt water.
I agree, 80 grand is way to high for one needing some work on it and 600 hours. Not to mention the status of the high dollar items like risers, manifolds, Transmissions, a/c, date of electronics, etc. Is it a salt or fresh water boat.
Just pulled the risers off my 2003 320 last year to install a closed cooling system when I moved the boat to Florida. Risers and manifolds looked brand new after 15 years in fresh water.
In my opinion it doesn’t matter how much you get on your return or how many hours you put on the boat each year. Diesel is the way to go! Both are good engines, but I find Cummins are less expensive to maintain.
You can also leave your ac in the dehumidifier mode to help control moisture, which would save you electric and save extra wear on the ac unit when your not on the boat.
