An update to: Re: what other boats compete with the <= 220 sundeck
Just as an update, I ended up buying a 2002 SR Sundeck 240. I was pleased to realize that it seats 12 and in later years is a 260, I assume because of the integrated swim deck.
At any rate, thank you so much to everyone on...
Spookeay - our friend CAT just has gotten it operational. The first cruise was Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Second cruise was Sunday, 9-11. Everything is working pretty well. The trim sender is finicky or else I need solenoids. CAT also says I need a new "computer" on the engine. Mine is...
Also from Alabama, just bought a SD 240
I see you're from Dothan. Where do you take your boat? To the coast?
I just bought an 02 sun deck 240 and am on Lake Martin, just north of you.
Club Sea Ray, take note - Re: A cute 190 Stopped in for a restoration
I know this boat, and Heather has done and absolutely incredible job and (despite her modesty) it is a totally perfect restoration plus upgrades of a lot of wood work.
I can't believe how great the paint looks, much less all...
I know this is not an SR but I think this forum would appreciate these pictures of a rare (to me at least) italian made boat:
1973 Riva Olympic
Incidentally, right after this, a SR Sundeck came in for fuel, that is the boat that I am REALLY hoping for...
Amen on Lake Martin's Aquapalooza last year. We have an old, big, historic lake so I was skeptical of the claim that it would be the "biggest party ever" there. I was wrong. It lived up to the hype.
Plus, and this is a big plus, the logistics and security was top notch. Many locals feared...
Re: how many passengers will a sundeck / bowrider
@chuck1 - the more the better, obviously, but I would say I would at least like it rated for 10.
I may be overthinking this, but I would like to be able to compare, for example, if a 1999 210 BR is rated for 10 passengers, and if a 1999 210 SD...
difficulty in finding out how many passengers
@westy- thanks, that is good info. I will take a look at the Crownlines, too.
My main problem now is figuring out official seating capacities for these older ( 1998 - 2001) boats. I have scoured the web, the CSR, and SR's official site. I can...
thanks to all for the explanation on this. I have been researching older (98 - 01) sundeckers and could not figure out why the models kept on changing from 200 to 210 to 220. I guess it mainly stemmed from reclassification related to the swim deck?
@RR - OK, I see what you mean. Seems like I read on the Crowneline or Chapparal forum that one of those companies was doing the chapter 11 boogie and therefore some people had concerns about warranties. That is good advice.
Thanks!
Is there something wrong with the segment?? Not challenging you, just asking your opinion.
I have read elsewhere that the 220 Sundeck was once SR's top seller. I also have asked myself, if it was a top seller, why slow down or stop making it?
Maybe the 240 gives a lot more room or something...
I just looked at the Crowneline site and their 220 EX Deck Boat looks stubby compared to the sundeck 220. Of course, I don't know how long Crowneline has been making those, they might not have made them in '00 or '01 so for my purposes it may be moot.
Judging from the videos it also looks...
