Update: I removed the gasket material from the mating surface. That was a pain. I carefully used a razor scraper to get most of it. I read to use a flat file to clean to get it all the way down to metal. Then I used a sanding block with 320 grit to smooth it out. I'm ready to put them back...

Thanks for easing my mind lol. I'll be putting them back together tomorrow. Was wondering how to clean up the mating surface. I was gonna use a plastic scraper. What grit did you sand them with?

Hey guys, finally got a chance to visit the boat. These don't look near as bad as the pictures I've seen. I think they have some life left. What do you think? I went ahead and ordered new gaskets.

They are for sale online so I'm not able to do that. I could try asking if they'd do that for me. But after looking closer, the bolts on the risers are different and the angles of the elbow are different. So probably won't work for me. Unless the design has changed?

I got some free time and started cleaning up the teak inserts from the swim platform. Previous owner had used several coats of stain. I stripped all that off and cleaned and oiled one piece. A lot of work but happy with the results.
