Its time for a new cabin fridge for our boat. Original fridge started to vary wildly in temp, began to get noisy and seemed to be a source of a drain on my house batteries while on the hook as the fridge compressor was running almost constantly.
Decided to go with the Vitrifrigo C115IBD4-F-2...

Specifically post 14 n 15 apply to me, as I'm thinking I have 2 leads on the port bank (start n house batteries) and 1 lead in the strbd bank as indicated in the...
Has anyone swapped out their battery charger? I recently put in a ProNautic 1230. After an easy install, it self tested good on start up and seemes to be working perfectly on the port bank (start n house) and the starboard bank. It doesn't seem to be doing anything for the generator battery...

Both look really nice and much more useful than what is original. Are your tops level after the alteration or are they still slightly running down hill?
Anyone have a source for the below gasket? I have only been able to find them at Uglyfish.com in Florida, but 2 separate orders (neither filled) 2+ months and several phone calls, the guy there says he still does not know when/if he can get them. I even had no luck with Southco direct via...
John used to own Bloch Marine Service, and had full service shops at 3 marinas on the Mississippi in the St. Charles/ St. Louis area including mine at Yacht Club of St. Louis. He sold his service business to our marina owner a year or two ago, but still does survey work. I have never used him...
Off shore power, I would see a drop in the voltage with out even starting the engines. With the engine started, it would not put out a charge at less that 2k rpm I think it was. A bad diode in the alternator will create a draw on your batteries in short order. On mine, I was at a raft up...
My marina shop also gave me a quote of just under $300 and a week delivery time. Amazon had it at my door next day if I remember correctly. I did the removal/instal myself in about 45 minutes.

Check your alternator. A bad alternator can cause a power drain in exactly the way you described what happened to you. I had this same thing happen to me last summer and it was the alternator gone bad. $70 for a new one and all was/is well.
Needing to replace the cabin refrigerator, which is a Norcold DE441. Is there a replacement unit that will fit through the doorway of the '01 without removing the slider? Any advice or recommendations greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Have you checked the starboard alternator. A bad diode in the alternator can cause a considerable and quick drain on the batteries. I just had a nearly identical set of symptoms. A check of the alternator showed it was not generating power below 2000 rpm and on the charger, it was still not...
