    Newly-installed Mercruiser 5.0 won't start...

Engine is definitely shifted into neutral. I took it out of gear before shutting off the engine. Just to be sure though, I shifted it back and forth a couple of times just now, no change. This is the carburetor model, with manual shift cables and throttle cables, if that makes a difference. The...

    Newly-installed Mercruiser 5.0 won't start...

Hi all. 1981 Vanguard 310 with twin 5.0s I went through a lengthy process to get two remanned engines put in last year. Boat finally went back in the water last fall. Unfortunately, I travel extensively for work so this week is the first time I've been out to the lake to use her this year...

Help finding the style of Sea Ray

In looking around for info about my 310, I heard that they made a 360 Vanguard in the early 80s. Does that one you saw look like this? http://www.searay.com/boat_graphics/electronic_brochure/company1729/1C1_27_74DERNJ51330.jpg

2015 Lake Erie CSR Rendezvous (Sea Ray New Year) Paper district Marina Sandusky Ohio!

Re: 2015 Lake Erie CSR Rendezvous (Sea Ray New Year) Paper district Marina Sandusky O Are boat-less attendees allowed? I'll be in the area but my boat is quite a long way south.

1989 Sea Ray 300 Sundancer, RPM for best fuel economy

Haha ok. That makes more sense.

Is that per engine or overall?

    Fairport Harbor, OH?

Any members here have slips in Fairport Harbor? I'm up here for work and yesterday I drove around a little bit, despite the nasty weather. I saw a few gorgeous classics docked along Riverbend and at HTR right on the lake. Hopefully none of them were bothered by the storm surge. I saw one small...

Well, may either part this boat out or sell as is

Well I hope you get her all fixed up! Looks like a great boat. But if not, I would be interested in some parts for my own restoration. :smt001

    Deadrise angle?

Awesome thanks! I looked on the other page but somehow missed that one. Evan

    Deadrise angle?

I've looked all over trying to find this info, with no luck. I have a 1981 Vanguard 310 Express and I need to know the deadrise angle of the hull to order a thru-hull transducer. Stupidly, I forgot to measure it last time I was out at the boat. :smt021 I want to get it installed while the boat...

WTB - Shift and throttle levers for a twin-engine 1980s cruiser

I'm looking for the shift levers and throttle levers for a 1981 310 Vanguard. I'd like to install original-ish parts if possible, but really any lever set that is built for non-electronic engine controls would work. My engines are inboards, so no trim switches needed. Thanks for looking! Evan

Update on my (now un-named) 310 Vanguard

Thanks for all the replies and well-wishes! This is certainly an exciting project and I can't wait to get the old girl back out on the water. The old motors are coming out this week, so hopefully I'll have more pics to share soon. I am going with a full MerCooling closed-loop system. My...

Update on my (now un-named) 310 Vanguard

It has been an eventful winter/spring! Recap: I purchased a 1981 Vanguard 310 in July of last year. The interior was in quite a state (tobacco tar stains on all the vinyl, interior hadn't been cleaned in ages, ragged carpet, etc) and the engines didn't seem to be quite right (~2800 rpms @...

    Fuel Tank Switches

I have a set of shutoff valves that allow both engines to draw off either tank, both tanks, or their respective side tanks. The valves are mounted on a panel in the center of the forward engine room bulkhead. Right between both engines. I open the center hatch to access them. If you backtrack...
