I just bought the GFS 10's as well for my boat but haven't installed them yet. I also bought 4 of these and some 3/8" fuel line to handle the conversion from 1/2" to 3/8" and back to 1/2" again. http://www.dtekcustoms.com/hi-flowhosereducer-12-38.aspx
Might do the install this weekend. If...
Before I put the boat in the water this year, I brought the shop vac on board as well as an air compressor and tried blowing and vacuuming out any dirt in the coils. Didn't seem to get much out. The only way I knew to test incoming airflow was to hold a piece of paper near the coils and it...
I purchased the boat last winter and every time I've run the A/C it freezes so I'm not sure if its always been this way. Adding a plenum and simplifying the exit ducts for a test will be the first thing I do. I'll also check the incoming and exit temps and post. Thanks again.
Thanks again for all the suggestions. I'm pretty handy so I'm going to try to tackle this myself. First I want to remove all the existing vent work and run 1 simple line into the cabin and see if the exit air flow is the problem. If that doesn't help, I'll break down and bring in an A/C guy...
Would a good test to see if it's the exit airflow be to disconnect all of the existing duct work and connect one vent out to the berth? (No splits or tee's) How long should it be able to run without freezing up? What temps do most people set the thermostat at? It looks like the unit was...
WOW - Quick reply's. Thanks. I usually set the thermostat at around 75 and it does cool the berth off nicely if I shut the condenser down manually and don't let the unit freeze. I'd like to set it lower but cant even get it to cool to 75 on a hot day without freezing. Water is flowing...
I have a 1991 Express Cruiser 310 that has a Mermaid Marine Air / 11,000 BTU air conditioner in it. Whenever I run it, the coils freeze up after about 30-40 minutes. I’ve done the research here and lack of airflow seems to be the main culprit. The unit is mounted under the bed in the bow...
