@paulswagelock Here's a bunch of photos of my Sea Ray factory installation. Note the paracord I added to keep the hatch from opening too far. Simple, but gets the job done. Still working on the fix for the tangled rode. Will update if I ever get around to it.
Here's what I have to show right now. I can take some more photos next time I'm at my marina - especially the inside of the locker. Hopefully next weekend, weather permitting. Any other specifics or measurements you need - let me know, happy to help.
This is a 2019 SDX 270. A couple things to...
Has anyone else had issues with water entering their fuel vent and clogging the line?
I have a new 2019 SDX 270 and suddenly I wasn't able to pump gas into the tank. I'd recently navigated some rough seas and seems like I took on some water in my fuel vent line that filled up the carbon...
Problem solved, thanks for the tip! For reference here's the pole I bought: https://www.westmarine.com/buy/taylor-made--22-59-super-support-pole-3-piece--13809504
I've noticed water pooling on my cockpit canvas on my 2019 SDX 270 after it rains. I cannot seem to keep the canvas taught enough to flatten out the valleys where the water pools. I've tried really ratcheting the pulley tight and I've tried it a bit looser too. Still valleys. The two internal...
To close the loop here, I ended up getting a 2019 SDX 270 with the 350 HP I/O. Got a great deal on it and can't wait to get her in the water. Thank you all for your suggestions and help.
Howdy! Proud new owner of a 2019 SDX 270. Where the hell are you guys applying vinyl lettering to this boat? I want to display her name, but the transom is so tiny! Would love to see what others have done.
I'm basing this on the "build my searay" tool: https://buildmy.searay.com/build/SDX270
Section 4: Propulsion shows a $7,154 difference between the 300 & 350 options. If you click the "i" it lists all the specs. It's weird that the specs are literally identical except for HP. Seems wrong that...
Appreciate the responses! Personal preference is for the IO. I'm inclined to stick with the 6.2L / 300 HP stock engine, but the sales rep was nudging me toward the 6.2L / 350 HP upgrade. $7k for 50 HP seems steep and there's other ways I'd want to spend my budget. Anyone have the 300 HP engine...
Hello,
First post here! NYC-resident, planning to purchase a SDX270 in the next couple months. It's my first boat purchase. My family has always owned a couple Searays (185 & 390) that I've been using my whole life, so I'm pretty familiar with what I'm signing up for. This has been a goal of...
