I need some feedback from the community – boat owners and mechanics if possible.
1995 Sea Ray 230OV 7.4l
Fresh water only, no corrosion/rust/oxidization, excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition
Here's my situation:
Last summer I bought this Sea Ray from a dealer. It was a one-owner lake...
My marine mechanic left the drain plug in after winterizing:smt089. It sat the entire winter under a cover, but rain and snow still got in, because the bilge had water up to the deck. I have to give the guy credit, because he's taking full responsibility for the mistake.
The lower half of the...
My flame arrestor is the oem Mercruiser unit. The one that's designed to fit under the plastic cover. From my recollection, it's about 8-10 inches in diameter. I'll definitely look into your suggestion.
Thanks!
I finally found the right boat for my needs (to replace my 230 Sundancer). This 230 Signature has a solid build, great lines, adequate seating/accommodations above and below deck, great behavior in rough water (much better than the DA that it's replacing)... and a beast of a powerplant.
Although...
My wife has yet to see this boat. If she loves the boat but really wants swivels, I'll likely make the change. Curdsg, I'll certainly keep you in mind if that happens.
My 230DA has the complete camper enclosure (bimini, front screen, side curtains and back canvas) all in excellent shape. Seems like it may have been used once or twice. Dark green, circa '95.
Should I include these with the sale of the boat, or separate? Is there a demand for this canvas? Seems...
By "lounge seats" do you mean the wrap-around seating in the back like pictured in the brochure here?
Reason I ask, is that I'm about to pick up a 230 OV Sig. that has the back-to-back seats and the jump seats on either side of the engine cowling. Although this config. appears to give 6 people...
Re: 230DA - Where should I go?
Gerald/Chris,
Your input absolutely helps. I have renewed faith in this forum being a good resource for educating myself about my new-to-me Sea Ray.
I've messed with the trim tabs and have started to learn their effect on this boat. It's high center of gravity...
Re: 230DA - Where should I go?
I agree with the pilot seating. It's odd when you find yourself seated with your legs crossed at the shins. I liken it more to sitting on a log at a campfire :smt009
I miss the swivel pedestal seating in my old Cuddy.
I suppose the design challenge was to allow...
230DA - Where should I go?
I'm trying to learn about my recently acquired '95 230DA.
I figured that Club Sea Ray would be a good start before I went to the non-brand specific boating forums.
Although there's more than 145 pages of threads dedicated to the 240, there's not even one full page...
Although not new to Sea Ray, I'm new to the Sundancer. I'm trying to learn about this new-to-me 1995 Sundancer 230, however I'm not finding an "Official 230
Sundancer" thread anywhere in the forums. If there isn't one for the 230, is there a model-specific thread for a similarly equipped...
