Hey Everyone
I was out last weekend and when i went to take off from dead in the water the wheels seemed to either begin to ventilate or the Velvet drives began to slip on what i believe was the port side.. I pulled back quickly on BOTH throttles so I didn't notice if it was just the port that...
Don't any of you guys recognize an old style mechanical door bell? I bet the clapper fell off on the other side years ago like it used to do if Grandpa slammed the door.
I have a 300 Weekender 1987 but mine is under the aft cushion of the berth with the return grill cut into the face of the wall. it fits nicely there and installing it there allows you to run ducts through the cabinetry into the head, galley, up through the closet and into the berth as well as...
DOT up here has been given the permission to work varied hours at their own descretion depending on what they see so it is not even possible to assume that they will not be out. i have seen them out Sunday mornings at 6am at some of their favorite spots. Now they can be seen cruising the...
Mine is 11 feet and believe me, the cops know that most trailers are 8'6" wide fender to fender so anything outside the fenders is too wide. We do this for a living (hauling oversize loads) and have become the states new "cash cows"

Take a look at your compressor unit and see if you see a red reset button on it. My unit is a Mermaid and it is right on top where it can easily be seen. Since you never said whether or not you have voltage (110) at the pump I can tell you from experience that this may be the culprit. The...
Its a shame more people do not practice them. From my slip I always need to back into the channel and with boats berthed on either side of me i need to use the appropriate signal for operating astern as I come out of the berth.
Most people in the area and know the rules of the road...
It is your Boat and your Life (and that of your friends and family) You might want to move it up a bit on your priority list. If a fuel hose were to start leaking or a carb float sticks you might wish the sniffer was up and running.
The high pitched squealing sound you mention is probably the low oil pressure alarm. I am not sure what red lever you are talking about on the throttle
Thanks Ron
I figured as much but I had heard a couple guys talking at the Marina this weekend and one of them has an 86 weekender and he is set up like mine and he was saying he was struggling to hit the 4600 mark with his and he said he was running more like 4400. He does have a bunch of...
WOT RPM's On My Boat
OK Guys. What are you guys seeing for WOT Rpm's on your 300 Weekenders? Are most of you cruising at about 23 MPH and 3200 RPM's?
She is swinging 17X16 screws. I know they say 4600 rpm's at WOT but I was just wondering if anyone with 1000 hour engines was seeing...
