any idea why it is running even before I take the boat out or mess with the switches?

I just had my boat serviced...both engs and gen and here is what the coolant reservoir looks like....i am assuming this is low...

So this box in my engine compartment on the inside transom started running and making a horrible noise like a motor is about to burn up. The only way to make it stop is to shut off the battery switch. Anyone know what this is or what is wrong?

yeah i talked to Terry at eriksen today today, hes gonna look at it....but to pull it out of the water is 18 bucks a foot.....sucks...but thats life with a bigger boat i guess

Sounds like you need a new impeller on the port. If there is NO water coming out of the exaust and it is steaming, either your impeller is bad or on of your cooling hoses is either not connected correctly or is completely off. I just replaced both impellers on mine and they were brand new...

Thanks dude, nice boat by the way. I had put all brand new batteries in before this happened, so Ill check all the connections again. Yeah the boat has no corrosion, always in fresh water, only has 50 hours on the engines.....
