We were cruising along at around 3500 RPM, when suddenly power on Port engine reduced to 2,800 RPM, throttling up resulted in vibration and smell of gas. Throttling down and then back up to 3,500/ 4,000 RPM was fine but after 10-15 min. the same scenario, back to 2,800. Any ideas? Thanks...

Yes it definitely was the wire/ connector to the knock sensor; cutting the wire back, eliminating some frayed strand and reconnecting the connector has done the trick. This would have saved me a couple of thousand $ if detected early/ or some of these responses would have come a year ago. Hope...

One more update; this may be it! We noticed that the wire to the knock sensor was in poor shape with many broken strands inside the covering, cleaning it up and reseating the connector, appear to have resolved the issue (for now) Henning

Thanks Chuck; I was told that since marine fuel doesn't have the same fast turnover as street fuel, it looses its octane, since it's sitting in the tanks a lot longer (both filling stations and boats); I add stabilizer to spike it/ maintain the octane. Henning

Thanks; my thinking as well, but my mechanic (who doesn't have a scan tool) keeps telling me we need to know what the codes are. Are the fuel sensors seperate and easy to locate?? Henning
